September 29, 2003 At the Belchertown Fair
Hello Everyone,
I am coming to you today from my hometown, Belchertown, MA. I came
up from Nashville to play at the Belchertown Fair, a yearly event
that takes place the last weekend of September. The drive up was draining.
It rained the entire way for the two days it took me to get here and
my car took on an uneasy thumping sound in the front end. Think a wheel
bearing is about to go. Well the car is with my friend and mechanic, Fred Tilton,
and I'm sure he will solve the problem. Fred and his wife just had a new baby,
so I guess I'll be contributing to the college fund. (:
I had a wonderful time at the fair. Marguerite Brennan, who is in charge
of entertainment was kind enough to find slots for me to play even
though the event calender was full. Three different bands let me play on their
breaks and use their equipment and I would like to thank "Cottonwood",
"The Floyd Patterson Band" and the "Hav'n Fun Band" for being so
gracious.
I was able to play some songs off my first CD "Reap The Flowers" and
a number of songs off the new CD I am currently recording in Nashville.
The title of that CD will be "Leave A Pearl" and it will be out on the
Wild Oats Record label,(www.wildoatsrecords.com) in January. By the way,
"Reap The Flowers" is now on sale at Checkers General Store in Belchertown.
It's always nice to be home, especially at the fair. I got to see a lot of faces
and old friends on this trip. It's such a boost of energy to have the
support of the people I grew up with. Where attention goes, energy flows!
I'll be here a few more days, visiting with my family and doing some work on the farm,
then back to Nashville. I have a few more weeks of recording to finish up "Leave A Pearl",
then it's (hopefully) on to bigger and better things.
Thanks for checking in.
Peter
