November 29, 2002 Manasas, VA
Hi Folks,
I'm coming to you from Manasas, VA today. It's been a few days
since I posted an entry. I went home for a few days to recover
from the stomach virus. Upon leaving I went up to N. Adams, MA
to visit some friends I went to college with. I then headed west
into New York state where I ended up in Cooperstown, home of the
Baseball Hall Of Fame. I toured the hall, but what I found of
more interest was another museum called the farmers museum. It
was dedicated to farm life of the 1850's.
They had a number of buildings that were moved to the site from
around New York state. Of course, there were a large number of
artifacts dating from that time period.
I then went down to Gettyburg, PA and toured the battle grounds.
If you are into Civil War history, it doesn't get any better than this.
From there I came to Manasas where I am staying with some friends.
Tommorrow I will pick up the Blue Ridge Parkway and head south. Next
stop will be Charlottesville, VA to visit Monticello, the home of
Thomas Jefferson.
