Belfast. N. Ireland

Hello Everyone,

I am just returning from my trip to Belfast, N. Ireland where I played in the first annual Belfast/Nashville Songwriters Festival. The event was sponsored by a group called Panarts (www.panarts.org.uk). Panarts is a non-profit organization that promotes cultural diversity in the city of Belfast. The purpose of the event was to bring together songwriters from both cities to share music from two different parts of the world, and it was a blast!

Our hosts, Colin Magee and Anne Coulter, along with Joe Duffy and Clare Coulter were the nicest people you could ever meet. They organized the event that had five shows in three days. They carted us around the city, fed us and led us on a wonderful, musical adventure. I got to play on stage with some great songwriters who I now count as my new friends. The event was considered a wonderful success and I am happy to have been part of it.

As an added bonus, I met a BBC radio DJ, Hugo Duncan, while I was there and he invited me to be on his show. He interviewed me about the Festival and played a couple of songs from "Leave A Pearl."

One of the more fun things I got to do was go to a school to talk about songwriting with youngsters. They were so cool. I sang a song called "Teather" from my first CD, "Reap The Flowers." Teather was a kitten I once owned. Afterwords they wanted to know everything about Teather. What did she look like. How old she was. Did I still have her. They were enthralled and it was a wonderful feeling.

My adventures continued from Belfast as I next went on to Rome. I have distant family there who I had never met, but it was as though we knew each other for a lifetime. Once again my hosts brought me around the city that is like no other. The ruins are spectaular. The artwork incredible. The Coliseum, St. Peter's Basilica and the Vatican Museum, which includes the Sistine Chapel, are fabulous. You could spend months there trying to take in the splendid art throughout the city.

Well, it's back home for a while to work on the next step, wherever it may take me. Thanks for stopping by. Peter
